just don't get a loving windows phone at least
those things are loving awful
Wouldn't that count as a smartphone? I was talking about one of those old phones. Back when they actually had buttons. That way, I have a phone that just calls and texts and does nothing else. I will do all of the important stuff on my tablet, which will have both Windows and Arch Linux for different uses.

people actually use their phones to call?

I send like 1 outgoing call a month. That's not to say I'm a social recluse though, I send 800+ text messages in an average day. forget using T9 for that stuff.

Yes? Everyone I know who has a phone does, myself included. This is such an odd question.

I'd rather my phone just call and text. When it tries to be a small computer, people get angry and argue over which one is better.

that's the main purpose of a phone how do you even say something like this

And that's why trinick needs a tablet.

I wouldn't go that far. The ability to pass time with something that conveniently fits in your pocket is nice.

Well in that case I'd rather the phone and pocket-computer-thing be seperate devices. I have two side pockets and two back pockets. There is enough room.

the iPod Touch costs significantly less than the iPhone and all related andriod devices. And best of all, you pay for it once and it's yours forever! no contract!

Yes. Like that, but there should also be an android one. Right now most android devices are either phones or tablets.
And is Apple making a new iPod Touch to go with the iPhone 6?

maybe my perception is skewed because im in highschool but 99% of apple products i see are ipads or iphones

Andriod has no such devices as far as I've seen. Only full phones that cost $600+. You can get literally every single feature of the iPhone minus the phone for $400 less by buying the iPod touch. And yes, afaik they are making a new iPod touch.

Yes, but they also sell an alternative version of both, which is the iPod touch.
It's smaller than the iPad, but doesn't have calling or texting capabilities of the iPhone.
Android doesn't have one of these pocket-computer-things. (do they even have a name?)

All I'm trying to say, is that there should be a middle ground for people who don't want to pay monthly for a smartphone, but still want a small touch device with their choice of mobile operating system. But currently, apple is the only one making these.

because they know they cant compete
apple was the first to the mobile music player market (ipod classic) and it would be pretty hard to break in
its not worth the effort

I'd say, once you get closer to being an adult, having an accessible form of communication becomes a basic need, so there's a very high chance you'll need to get a phone at some point, and when that time comes, it's very convenient for you to not need a second device for free time, because your phone already fills that mold.
