I think hermit crabs are legal pets though, so you could look into that if you want

The problem with that is I would require another aquarium set up (which I have a spare 29 gallon tank lying around so) and that is simply double the maintenance. I can't put anything in with bolt, my red ear slider, because he will take chunks out of it until it dies
