My guess is one, since it's so old.

The brick physics will use a second core if available.

How many cores can one comp have anyways?

As many as they can put it, afaik. AMD has some 8 core processors available.

It's some power of 2, but I can't remember for sure. It's some ridiculously high number; you don't need to ever worry about passing it unless you're building a supercomputer.

wow so blockland IS multi core
whos the guy who told me otherwise

AMD has some 8 core processors available.
so does intel
+ i7s have hyperthreading which gives 2 threads per core

Intel Xeon Phi co-processors have 61 cores and 244 threads.

I've never seen this in action?

I've used both an AMD FX-8350 and AMD Phenom 965 and Blockland never used more than a single core on either.

Maybe it depends on the amount of bricks.

Oh, ok.

Thanks!

But he said CPU, not coprocessor

Anyways, Intel recently announced an 18-core Xeon. Couple that with a dual cpu slot mobo and you'll have 36 cores (72 threads with hyperthreading)
But you never need that much; those are server components (and damn high end ones too)
