people are responding negatively because the post was somewhat aggressively (maybe more so condescendingly) dismissive towards the preference of many people when the context gave very little reason for such a thing to happen. the topic is specifically about a problem in a specific browser and it was disrespectful to the OP to ignore this and suggest something completely overdrive (although you could argue it is an acceptable solution, it is out of the scope of solutions OP was asking for), and further disrespectful to others if your tone is just right.

yeah i mean i get that, but it was definitely not intended to start this. i literally didn't take it seriously so im not sure why i even got tangled up in it
