Author Topic: If you owned Antarctica, what would you do with it?  (Read 2305 times)

Build a centrist dictatorship that is as relevant as Sealand trolls it's neighbors like North Korea.
I don't even know how Sealand is relevant to people online.

People in the UK have forget-all clue it even exists, let alone that there's some bellend claiming it as it's own country.

I would sell it and buy a more usefull landmass

Make an underground country and only accept migrants if initially invited to migrate in. Only useful and competent people will be invited in. Immediate deportation if you commit a major crime.
Limit national population, no religion, no separation of science to public, stay globally neutral, ignore the outside world.

I don't even know how Sealand is relevant to people online.
I don't even know how you're relevant to people online. oooooo

probably sell it so I can own something worthwhile

rename it freezy richard and make research there and every one has to do with penguins

I don't even know how you're relevant to people online. oooooo
Me neither, but the people can't get enough of me xx

Antarctica is worth pretty much nil. The only reason anybody would buy it is just to say they own Antarctica, so you'd probably get a few hundred thousand dollars at best. The 'more useful' landmass you'd now be able to afford is a house.

What if it has oil? It's estimated to have one of the world's largest oil reserves.

The land certainly has intrinsic value, but the cost to set up an oil mining rig on Antarctica is far too high to justify it. It's much cheaper to use oil pockets in the ocean or in existing oil-rich areas like Alaska.

If it was cost effective, it would have already happened. No oil company wants that land.

sell it for $700,000,000,000 or more

test a hydrogen bomb on it just to see what it would look like
then probably sell it
or keep
idk

Set up a new nation and start populating the new land
like that will ever happen

Test the buoyancy of a hydrogen bomb in it's waters.
