Author Topic: Blockland Forum iOS application  (Read 4870 times)

You do realize how much it costs to create an application, right? It isn't something that is quick, easy and affordable; it costs thousands and thousands of dollars just to get into development. Badspot wouldn't even consider doing this when the website works fine on Safari/any other iOS downloadable browser.

For the interest of naming how much this would cost however;

Holy stuff this is the most bullstuff thing I've ever seen. Where on earth are you getting this from? This might be true if you're trying to hire a team of 100 or so programmers to work on it 8 hours a day for months on end. This would be an estimate for making a game like Jetpack Joyride, not making a blockland forums browser tailored for older versions of iOS.

"email login"
since when do we pay for our email addresses?

"ratings and reviews"
absolute loving bollocks

"user profiles"
No, no, no Stop

Obviously the site isn't anywhere near accurate to the price of how much this would cost, it was simply to empathize how expensive a Blockland Forum app would cost to develop and maintain.

There is very few options to select from, for example; no user login, email login was the closest thing to it. Try it yourself.

Shut up

Don't bring Apple vs Android stuff here

ANDROID is better, and they don't make Chinese workers slaves and unable to Self Delete themselves just to keep on working *cough*  Apple *cough*

Because we're going to rely on a website called "how much to make an app" .com

I visited it, and it costs $500 to make our own icon. Why will that cost money at all

Even if Badspot used a service such as this (which he would not), the actual price of this project, as estimated by this site, would be $8000 (as just an iPhone app, but the process would be so simple for porting it to other iOS devices that it might add $10). You added on a BUNCH of stuff that wouldn't actually go into making the app.

Login? Already exists.
Profiles? Already exists.
Logo/Icon? Already exists (for the most part). And even if I didn't I could make one in 10 minutes the would work, for free.
Ratings/Reviews? What even?

You could probably ask anyone who frequents Coding Help and who is worth their salt to make this app (really just a shell, if we're being honest) in a day. Sorry, but that's just how it is. Don't necessarily trust an estimate of a site that gives you a few options to choose from.

What the actual forget lol.

First option asks if you want the interface to be Stock / default or custom.  If you choose Stock/Default it's automatically a charge of 5,000 dollars.  Where the forget did they come up with these figures.  One of my friends from elementary school made a crappy app and put it on the appstore, i can assure you he did not have 5000 dollars minimum lying around.

Anyways: The browser works pretty good, but the page buttons are really small.  That's really my only complaint about viewing forums on mobile.  But, this can easily be bipassed by zooming in temporarily :P
