I just figure out how use bb code for this forum counter. I want share with you will use this counter for your any threads add-ons, Modification Discussion or whatever you want to use it.
The link: www.amazingcounters.com You will follow thier steps and grab BB code link. Then you will make your own any threads.
This image gif with the counter will look like this.
This for Blockland forum counts, how many User come to here check out on BL forum.

Furling and I were discussing ways to track add-on downloads, and to share the counter on the thread OP itself. Any ideas how to do that? Preferably without having to create our own site to do that.

I believe https://hostr.co/ offers download counts. You can make a PHP script to actually create the image.

But you're doing exactly that in the OP...
look at the file name of the link you put in the [img] tags, it's a php file
The php code dynamically creates and returns an image

I can't think of a way to do it without a site that supports php (or another server-side scripting language) scripts
