Author Topic: Libreoffice forgeted up my everything  (Read 829 times)

Alright so I am working on this powerpoint presentation for tomorrow but I don't have MS office so I have to use a free alternative Libreoffice. So I make the whole loving thing and save it as a microsoft PPSX document. Well I close the original file and open it again to see if it works and the whole thing is forgeted up. The size font for the text is size 12 and it stretches out of the page AND the boxes for them are all forgeted up and not around the text. Oddly enough the headings and pictures were not effected. Does anyone know how to fix this stuff?

maybe openoffice.org would be a better alternative

anyway maybe libreoffice saves in a different way ms office saves and that forgeted it up

IIRC there is a free version of Microsoft Office, or atleast for powerpoint.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

having to use a spinoff version/alternative to the original is almost...almost always a bad thing.

My troubleshooting skills are null, I'm sorry if I'm of no use to you.

Is there any way to fix my document or should I just kill myself?

They are exactly the same.

Yeah I'm going to spend 100 bucks on something that does the exact same stuff.

clearly it doesn't

clearly it doesn't

I've been looking up this problem and most people say they have the same problem with office. Clearly it is

Microsoft Office trial wont open it. It says its corrupt or some stuff.

The blue things are suppose to be the box for the text that's going off the screen.

Save in the OpenOffice format and not PPTX.

This wouldn't have happened if Ivan you used if you had used the communist version instead of the capitalist version of MS Office.

Save in the OpenOffice format and not PPTX.
This. There is a reason that this format is reccomended. And I'm pretty sure Microsoft office can open it.

Also the libreoffice word documents won't open in Microsoft word either. Says they're corrupt I saved them as a Microsoft word 2010 file as well.

I know for a fact MS Office can open .odt files.

If you're prompted with something that says it's corrupt, just 'repair' or whatever and it will stop being dumb.
