What does this change for iPad? Anything different, or is there no point?
I have an iPad 2 BTW
it's ios 7 just with extra features

Which iPhone do you have? I got it earlier and it seems to be smooth sailing
iPhone 5S 16GB from Sprint, its my Father's but I use it often considering my main phone Nokia Lumia 521 is lower end and also a budget phone, I use his to get access to iOS exclusive apps.

I still need to do a backup before I update :/

Huh. I dunno what the problem would be then, I have a 5c

nothing of value changed really
Drag down alerts from incoming texts to reply without changing apps. Send audio text messages. Send locations. Gallery of all images transacted to a contact.

It's a bunch of little convenient things that make life so much easier. I've been using iOS 8 since it was announced (I'm an iOS developer so I get the beta) and these 'trivial' things very quickly become very useful.

The one feature that's huge that I haven't yet gotten to try because I'm still on the last patch of the beta rather than the gold master release, third party keyboards. Swype functionality, complete redesigns, etc. Really opens up the keyboard platform.

I don't get why Swype is 99 cents.

now all they need to do is let you choose a default browser and use flash and i'll actually spend my own money on one of these things.

use flash
Flash is outdated technology. Apple is promoting the future by cutting out flash. I really, really can't say that I've encountered many sites that are flash-only that can't be viewed on my phone. It's a non-concern, and the popularity of the iPhone has done a lot for disabling the use of flash in mobile sites and the general internet.

I don't care if it's outdated. There's fun stuff made with it. I want to use said fun stuff and apple isn't letting me. I don't like that.

ios 7
wont switch yet until someone develops a jailbreak and most of the tweaks get ported over
same

i only just updated to iOS 7 because the little (1) on the settings app was annoying the forget outta me

And I'm sitting here with a jailbroken ios 4

itt: brag about how stuff you are at taking care of your technology

Apparently you can now have custom keyboard designs n colors n stuff with iOS8. Saw an app on the home page that does this. Neat.

that's like the #1 feature I was excited about
