Author Topic: Can't Host Dedicated Servers  (Read 1861 times)

I can host regular servers (ports are forwarded (UPnP hasn't changed anything), pings on master server, people can connect, etc.), but when I try to host a dedicated server, it acts like a LAN server and only my LAN can connect to the server.

It'll post to the master server, but it won't return a ping and no one can connect (as if my ports weren't forwarded, but that's not the problem.)

Also, it is very irritating that I can't edit posts in this board.

You are using the normal -dedicated command line argument?

That would be correct.

it's because, for whatever reason, some people like to edit the original post in a help thread, just removing everything, once the issue is solved
which is rather annoying for other people searching for a solution to the same problem

So it's a handicapped solution to a handicapped problem. Great.

To be more on topic though, I'm still experiencing issues and I have run out of things to troubleshoot.

Have you restarted your router? Unplug it, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. Restart your computer as well.

So it's a handicapped solution
not really? whatever you needed to edit in, you can just put it in another post. it's not a big deal, and it keeps people from removing useful information

Okay, I just did both of those but nothing has changed.

I don't like bumping things like this but I seriously need to know whether I'm completely forgeted or not

Does your dedicated server run from the same directory as your normal Blockland?

...

I'm a handicap.

Okay, I fixed that, but it still didn't help.

If I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Blockland, would that help?

Give it a shot, can't hurt to try.
