Author Topic: Blockland cant find the video card, and neither can any other program.  (Read 1910 times)

So I just Re-installed Windows XP Pro on my PC because it was corrupted (and I dont have any other OS disk). Now Blockland wont turn on, it just says "Cannot locate video card" thingy. I tried following the steps Blockland gives me for updating my drivers but it didnt say who the manufacturer was.

So I downloaded WhatPulse which usually tells me, but it just left that part blank and showed everything else.

And yes I installed Service Pack 3.

Get a computer specialist for this, since it affects all of your programs.
That is your best option as far as I know.

Restart the computer and try to access the BIOS. Once that's done, look around for settings pertaining to your video card.
If you can't access BIOS/something seems screwy with your video card settings in the BIOS, you're probably forgeted and should try either flashing the BIOS or replacing your video card.

Only settings regarding the Video Card are switching from PCI to PAS-(I think) and I tried switching between them. nothing.

Is the video card identified in the BIOS? There should be more settings than just that.

Yeah, you're probably forgeted if the BIOS can't identify it.

Can Speccy identify it?

This may sound stupid, but does your card have a driver you need to install?

Find the computer's model number and look it up off of the manufacturer's website, which should have the drivers as well.

Is this a laptop?

Dell Desktop, Prebuilt.

So I just Re-installed Windows

Now you need to re-install all the drivers that Windows got rid of due to re-instillation. Can you tell us what the name of the pre-built desktop is?
