What is it?

Ello is a new privacy-oriented social networking site. It's becoming popular for it's minimalistic layout and lack of advertisements. Some people are considering it as an "anti-Facebook" or a mashup of twitter and tumblr. Their goal is to create a social network that aims to reduce the amount of hate spewn about on social networking sites and to overall simply "make a statement" in the process.


How do I get in?

Ello is invite-only. This throws off a lot of people by making the website appear pretentious, but a key isn't hard to find. It will remain this way until the website leaves its beta state.

I'm on there, it's really great, but it's geared toward creative people. So if you plan to use it like Facebook, don't bother. It's perfect for someone like me though.
