Literally at least 3/4 of the time I catch people lying I do nothing about it. What's there even to do about it? You can confront them about it and make it an awkward situation. No thanks. Especially if the lie was meant to protect you, you're only gonna end up hurting yourself when you confront them and get the truth. So I just leave it be.

I told him that he had a misconception about me being a druggy and then explained to him why he had that misconception. He has that misconception because I talk about drugs a lot, and I talk about drugs a lot because I study their effect on the brain in my free time.
