ugh i hate getting blood drawn
gl

Last time I had blood drawn was a couple years ago to see if allergies were a cause of a medical issue that i have. I sat in the chair and had the needle put in my arm. I simply didn't look at it and it took a couple minutes. After the nurse was done, I looked over and saw two canisters lying side by side full of my blood. I remember thinking, "Geez why do they need so much??" I got up and started walking down the hallway towards the waiting room. My head started to feel so light that I felt I couldn't hold it steady and my eyes were trying to close. I seriously felt ready to pass out right there in the middle of the hallway. I saw a chair up ahead next to a vending machine and sat in it for 5-10 minutes and started to feel better, so I left.

Later found that allergies were not a cause for the medical issue, but I also learned about some things I never even knew I was allergic to at the time.

One time I got a raging erection and when they needed to draw blood there was none left.

If that ever happens again, call a nurse over and (maybe) lay down on the floor if it's bad enough

For the record, 'blood work' is a common term for having blood drawn for the purpose of tests and evaluations.

Anyway, I can't have blood drawn. I literally faint. It's weird too because I faint after the blood is finished being drawn, it's kind of like a cruel way my body makes the entire experience as terrible as possible for me. I get to experience all the unpleasant lightheadedness, dizziness, and nausea during the extraction, then as icing on the cake after they finish, pat me on the shoulder, and say 'You're done,' I get the grand prize of straight passing out. Then they don't let me leave for an hour because I'm a safety risk to drive myself home after just passing out. Fun stuff.

Have you told them before-hand of what usually happens when you get your blood drawn? I sure they can change something in the way they draw to better counteract those symptoms.

Sounds like a magnified version of what happened to me. I've had blood drawn before in very small amounts, but when that big one happened, it apparently was too much to be handled. I think your body is just not used to adjustments in quantity or something, and can't compensate quick enough.

Or a low amount of blood/oxygen is getting to your brain.

I take a shot every night. It's not as painful as bloodwork seeing as I take it in the stomach.

they pinch your vein and then stick a needle in it

got it done, was really dizzy afterwards and naucious, now I'm fine
well then
