I'd say six or seven hundred. I don't really know how much laptops cost anymore.

a sketchbook lets you keep it all in one place, and you can index your ideas and such. i unno, i like havin that orginization

I also own a Blue Snowball, and it's pretty nice with voice quality. While it's certainly not close to studio levels of clearness, the only way to have your recordings sound like stuff is if they have to process through a dial up connection first.
The microphone itself is very large however, and with it's 360 degree pickup range, it seems like it's a bit sensitive, especially in my noisy household.
Also the cable is really long and bulky so it doesn't tangle.

Puush never compresses anything which is why I use it over Imgur. B)
Also, sounds fine to me. And in any case, two seconds of editing can always help. It's decent enough sounding quality for me, at any rate.

First off, CryEngine. I get that you think you need the biggest, most complex and easiest tools around when you need them. CryEngine is beefy, it can get a lot done, but generally if you're focusing on smaller to regular sized projects you'd want to go with a much lighter engine. Hell, I'm sure if you do enough research, you will find a free alternative to CryEngine that will work just as you want it to.

my laptop has about 20 minutes of charge out of the socket from two years of use, and it's pretty much anchored to where it sits because it's just too annoying to move. don't make that mistake.

hadn't thought to consider weight, good point. i have a little experience moving big hardware, so yeah, i can appreciate the necessity of portability. now that i think about it, most people that i saw around the campus had rather small machines, after all.
