I'm wondering because when I checked the answer key, there was this thing that said "P = 2(circumference of circle with radius 1 foot)" before the rest of the answer.

I couldn't make heads or tails of it so I panicked.

help me

I think I get it, but the way the book put it went maximum handicap and decided to not make sense.

It should be correct. I honestly forgot for a sec if it was Pi x diameter or Radius2 x Pi.

I think using the radius is for area.

yeah, diameter is 2(r) or r = D/2 if you like and radius is the distance between the center and the outside

Still, I'd like to see a post by a math major just to be sure.

Well yeah, thats not what i was saying though.

Radius2 is not that same as 2r.

a diameter of 16 would have an 8 radius, and 82 is 64, not 16. 2r is just simple math used to find the diameter from the radius, nothing more.

No, i was confused because i forgot is you used Diameter or radius for circumference, and then i remembered.

Also, the area for that figure would be 10.28

ooohhhh i thought you misspoke since i hadn't said anything about the area

my bad

you may have just made it possible for me to get through the night.

it looks like your answer is halfway there

it looks like your answer is halfway there

What do you mean?

i actually lied and did it wrong, it is correct

i actually lied and did it wrong, it is correct

okay then

apparently my logic isn't flawed and i am perfectly fine.

thanks for the confirmation everyone
