You're supposed to be able to send a picture (with drawing and text if you so choose) to a specific person or people, and it only lasts for a few seconds once they look at it before it is supposed to be removed completely forever.

Supposedly you can screenshot those images, but I never got that to work.

I don't see why people blame the app. I thought the concept was stupid at first, but then I realized that the focus is less on the fact that people can't save it and more on the ease of sharing life events with people. Whenever people do cool stuff they snapchat it so their friends can see the cool stuff they do. I don't see how that's cancerous or stupid.
