Off topic: I'm a noob scrub how do I get badges anyway?
You have to collect cards from playing the games and then either trade for the remaining cards, purchase the cards you're missing or hope for a card drop (which gives you like 4 - 8 extra cards), and then once you have the full set you can press "craft".
Badges are really pointless and entirely to make Valve money, though, so you should basically save the cards you get, wait until they reach a peak price and sell them. I've bought quite a few games with card money alone.
