I think there were a number of reasons, some of which you mentioned.  I don't think we'll ever know for sure.

really though, it happened 4 or 5 years ago and even if i did any time recently, it isnt like its causing issues or breaking a rule. although it is stupid, but what else do you expect from a 9 year old...
