Avacyn, Angel of Hope is my favorite card ever. I have two of them.
... I just checked it online. If I understood the card properly, it makes all your creatures indestructible? That's pretty awesome for a card thats not even a god.

Seems like a pretty dangerous card to play against death or water, seeing as they have so many mind control cards.

I've got a 15/15 card that can't be countered, has flying, and allows you to take an extra turn the first time you attack with it. Basically it instantly does 30 damage once you take it out. I've only ever gotten into play once though, on a Red-Green-Blue deck. It takes 15 mana to bring out. I can't remember the name. It's an artifact, "Reality Torn" or something.

I havent played it in a while, might get one of my decks out later and have a game.

Makes all permanents you control indestructible (including lands.) Very relevant.

Emrakul, The Aeons Torn. There are answers to him despite having protection from colored spells.

It makes everything I control indestructable, which includes creatures, artifacts, lands, etc. And yes, I have to be pretty careful about not playing into cards that could possibly take control of her, as that can backfire on me really badly (Can't destroy a mind control if it is indestructable). Luckily, I do like to run Not of This World since that actually is applicable to most of my deck.

This might be slightly outdated, but I did put my exact deck list online. http://tapcreeput.net/mtg-decks/nayaayaya/ edit: updated
Yes, it's really expensive. This is because all of the money I've ever put into MTG has pretty much been spent solely on this deck.

I threw away 100 magic cards. Got dem' demons out of my house. They were my brother's, but he left them.

Just curious, where do you buy your cards? I don't care at all if they are used (as long as they aren't destroyed). I've found some pretty varying prices. I like cardkingdom but it overprices a lot of cards and will on occasion only sell unused versions of them that are like 40% more expensive.

trollandtoad sells some rares really cheap, and I like to use it sometimes.

You could have probably sold those for a good chunk of cash...

Reminds me of my favorite EDH deck: http://tapcreeput.net/mtg-decks/jhoira-of-the-i-win/

Pauper. You can get a pretty good deck for less than 40 dollars.

i dont like the game.

like every year or 2, however they cycle it. a new set comes out. of course they need to keep things fresh. but then there are rule changes and stuff regarding new cards. so you cant use half of what was in the previous set anymore.
forcing people to pay stuffloads of money to randomly collect cards again.

and yeah sure... you can technically still use old ones, if you are only playing with the same people for a decade, who all are in on that style together.

but you cant join tournaments at the mall game stores because they most times host events that use all new rules and cards.

so that cuts the player base in half, or less depending on how many like minded friends you have.

its a game that makes more sense being online in the modern world. but games like this are handicapped as video games because table top stuff is separate for a reason, as that kind of gaming negates the fact that you are digital and you might as well play a real video game.

plus i dont allow "collecting" to be in the same thought process of "gaming"
because i dont want to feel like a tool being bled for money, with an illusion that more spending will allow me to have more fun.

Nobody I know bothers to play the standard format because it's dumb that you have to buy cards printed in the last year. It does have it's reasons though. If you play professionally, you have to learn what all the cards and their combos are so you can adequately defend against them in your deck. By limiting the play format to only cards made in the last year (Usually 400-600), it's actually possible to study the available tactics and play around them.

My deck is only legal under the 'legacy' ruleset, but it doesn't matter since I only ever play with friends.

this is a big drawback for me honestly. i feel like they make super overpowered "mythic rare" cards then charge ridiculous prices for them just to make money from me. other than that its really fun.

the rules don't seem change much, i don't know what are you talking about.
