Author Topic: Going to sell my Xbox 360, got any tips?  (Read 635 times)

So I'm going sell my Special Gears of War 3 Bundle Xbox 360. Of course, I'll format it, remove any traces of accounts, and get everything nice and packed.
However, there are a few things I need to do.

1. LISTING SITE/PLACE
There are a lot of sites out there. Craigslist, eBay, Amazon, they're all pretty nice. However, some have their ups and downs.
Craigslist
Ups: Easy to make a listing, simplistic site, app for submitting
Downs: Common area for predators, killers, and other bad stuff
eBay
Ups: Famous site, lots of listings, trust system
Downs: Uses shipping most of the time, cannot afford at points
Amazon
Ups: Another great site, custom listings
Downs: Same as eBay, also I don't know if registering for a listing is complicated

Which one of these would be the best? And if there's another one, let me know.

2. PRICE
A bundle will have a power, video, console, 2 controllers, and the game.
I'm giving only 1 controller, the game, the console, and power.

Does that affect the price in any way? Any recommended prices?

3. LISTING TIPS
I have no idea on how to use ANY of the sites. It seems simple, but I don't know. How should I list it on one of the sites? What should I include?

Let me know what you guys have tip wise, and thanks.

What version is it? Fat or Slim?

You're going to get a lot of incredibly stupid loving idiots replying to you if you post it on craigslist. Some will set up a time to come get it and never show up. Some will try to sell you some stupid stuff to go with your xbox to "bump up the price."

Only put your email (preferably a junk email) on the listing, don't put your address or you will wake up one day with a bunch of 40s scattered around your house and all the copper and electronics ripped out. Have them email their phone number to you, so you can weed out the loving dope heads and nut jobs based on how they talk on the phone. If they are interested in buying it, tell them to meet you someplace public with people within 30 feet.

is it an xbox chocolate?  :cookieMonster:

1. People sell stuff with them buying stuff? That's idiotic.
2. I'll probably throw on the listing a mailinator or another disposable email. If that doesn't work, I'll make a Gmail alt.
3. I live in a apartment surrounded with millions of other apartments. And cars. And it's by a street. And it's by a Best Buy, a Schnucks, and a bunch of other places.
I think you know what I mean by now.

No. Get out.

I'd say maybe $50-$120. It is a used console that few people are buying, since the new consoles and stuffs. Although I'm not a resale expert so maybe I'm not entirely qualified, but I do have an Xbox.

Sell it on Amazon for whatever someone will pay for it. I listed mine cheaper then I wanted because I needed it to sell immediately, so if you're looking for quick cash go cheaper, if you're in it for the long run set a good price and wait.
