Author Topic: Gas Prices [We're in a freefall]  (Read 4020 times)

here in town it's $2.41, but it's likely cheaper outside of town bc all the gas stations here have to go through one really rich family who i used to go to church with

This is very bad economy wise.

Time to fill up the tank I guess.

More than 50% of gas prices are based on the tax levied against them (Sin-Taxes). If you live in a state with lower gas prices, chances are you also have lower taxes.
that's not what a sin tax is, and fuel taxes aren't THAT high, but uh... i guess you're correct that higher taxes mean higher prices.

how so?
people having more money to spend on things other than incredibly rich gas companies is obviously bad for the economy

how so?
It's not natural for gas prices to fall this low this fast. It could signal a crash in the economy.

I need someone better in economics to explain this.
Guys, it may seems like it's good at first like, "Yay whoo hoo low gas prices loving everywhere", but seriously this isn't a good sign.

only difference its making in the economy is that gas companies charge less and buyers pay less

This is geopolitics at work, and it'll end better for western countries than for Russia.

No.

Gas prices are lower because there is more supply. Simple as that really.
