Doesn't leftism imply more government control???
My Babblings thoughts and clarification on the subject
It's one of those confusing things. The original intentions behind leftism in general is just freedom. Marxism was about removing the rich elites from power so that everyone could live together in harmony as part of some classes utopia where there was no personal ownership of property, everyone had equal opportunities, everyone had a job and got paid the same wages no matter what level of education or job they had. However everyone and their grandmother makes their own flavor of Marxism, so you basically have Socialism, Leninism, Stalinism, Trotskyism, Humanism, Titoism, Hohaxism, Maoism, Agrarian socialism, democratic socialism, communism, juche, etc. I'd say Anarchy would be a spin off of Marx's ideas by focusing mainly on the stateless part.
It's no surprise that many of these nations that adopted these ideologies became dictatorships. Basically after the people's revolution was over, they leader the revolution basically made him self president for life. They all basically loosely follow the teachings of marx under the guise of whatever leftism is out there. Look at Albania, the USSR, North Korea, Cambodia, and China. They all became dictatorships that were no different than say fascism. Hell, even Fascism is derived from Marxism. Basically with Marxism all you need to know is that they wanted a classless society, tolerance of race, no religion, and equal genders.
National Socialism is often associated with the right wing since they are trying to promote the creation of a strong nation by destroying other ideologies and peoples deemed inferior. Basically with national socialistsm all you need to know is they wanted one class, one pure race, one state, while promoting traditional gender roles and state controlled religion.
Literally they are the same thing. One being Coke and the other being Pepsi.
One of the major flaws with these two ideologies is they inability to win the support of those who have a higher education. In the USSR many doctors and scientists hated the fact that they had degrees, performing complicated medical procedures, researching nuclear energy, and doing smart people stuff, yet they were only getting paid the same wages as janitor who never went to school. A lot of doctors and scientists would try to defect to the west so they could earn profit for their trade. In national socialist Germany scientist who were jews were not welcomed, other scientists were basically forced to research new weapons and not use the talents for good. Many found themselves working for the US or USSR for their nuclear and space programs.
