Author Topic: Random NVIDIA GTS 450 laying around; what do  (Read 750 times)

I had to take out an old NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 out of a computer after my sis said it wasn't working. Turns out, the 450 was incompatible with the computer she was using.

Now I have a GTS 450 laying here, and I have no idea what to do with it. Suggestions on what to do?

EDIT: I'm not selling it/giving it away because I don't even know if this thing works anymore.

sell it to me
OP dont listen to him! i will give you $0.02 other than that one penny he gonna give yah!

It's not bad of a card considering I use it, but I'd honestly sell it to save up for a newer/better one if you don't need it and want a new GPU or something.

Why wouldn't it be compatible

Power. Also, the fact that the CPU's integrated graphics are Radeon might have something to do with it.

It doesn't even boot up when I have it in there. It's from my current PC when I built it in 2010, then I switched it out with a GTX 660, so I don't know if it works. It's been so long since I tried using it.

Power.
Don't have a PCIE connector, or not enough wattage PSU?
The former can be fixed with adapters

It doesn't even boot up when I have it in there.
There's plenty of non-problems that can cause this

It should work, as long as you haven't done anything stupid with it between now and when you replaced it

forget ur not selling it?
forget

I'll buy it, like seriously I will
I need it for an XBMC media center
