Author Topic: What the hell is with people skipping Thanksgiving?  (Read 1989 times)

I mean, if you don't have thanksgiving then I can understand going to Christmas festivities directly after Halloween, but as far as I have seen everyone is totally blowing over thanksgiving.
It's not even close to Black Friday yet and its JUST after Halloween but all of the commercials and movies I'm seeing on TV are about Christmas. I like Christmas too, but if you turn time back about a day, EVERYTHING is Halloween-ized.

Jeez.

christmas makes money. sad to say but that's what it's for now, and it's been like that for a long time.

because no one wants a giant inflatable turkey in their yard

and now that i've said that holy stuff i want that and keep it up all year around

people gotta make the big bucks by selling christmas items as soon as possible

Agreed, I've actually been finding thanksgiving a lot more entertaining for me than christmas for the last few years

it gives off a better vibe and its less stressful because you get midterms in december.

Places start promoting christmas before October even starts. Why would they advertise a holiday that doesn't make a whole lot of money when they could be promoting a holiday like Christmas?

Pretty sure those exist if you're considering :cookieMonster:

I'm a huge Christmas fan. For both religious and festive reasons, its my favorite holiday of the year. And one of the few times we get to see relatives since we live so far from the rest of the family. I actually like all the Christmas stuff starting at the end of october/beginning of November. I'm also not a fan of thanksgiving tho, I dont like alot of that food.

ive seen christmas stuff on tv ads since like september

i blame the nightmare before christmas

Because Thanksgiving isn't that fun of a holiday for me. If you think about it, it's a day where you celebrate people sailing and then eating turkey. Turkey isn't even that good.

it is when you pour gravy all over that turkey ass

i blame the nightmare before christmas

damn you to hell tim burton

I can understand that, but that doesn't mean stores shouldn't even acknowledge it exists. Even just a week of running Thanksgiving ads would do the trick to at least say its a holiday.

If this is the case then why not advertise with emphasis on Black Friday deals? These ads make me feel like its already december but its at the beginning of the month.

Dude's right

But do they even have thanksgiving in Canada?

It's crazy how fast people start celebrating Christmas. I've seen people celebrate it on December 26th, the day AFTER Christmas.
