Author Topic: Looking for a gaming laptop (600$ - 700$)  (Read 2457 times)

600$ - 700$ is my budget (I know its not much money, but its the highest I can go).

So any recommendations for the best laptop that can fit my budget?

Okay, before anyone else says it:

Why a gaming laptop???1/ why not a DESKTOP!?!?!

ok now:
get a republic of gamers laptop

You're not getting a gaming laptop for $600.

Mine cost $3000, and has lasted about 2 - 3 years before finally starting to fall apart and overheating constantly.

Get a desktop. Cheaper, will survive longer, better performance, more customisable and better in every category.

yeah in short:
gaming laptops cost a lot of money because you need to make everything very, very small.

and it'll fall apart and have slower performance over time compared to a desktop because of the need for better ventilation

Before all the friends crawl out of the crevasses of this forum and start yelling desktop, maybe you should ask him if the computer is for mobility.

Heard good things about the Lenovo Y40 and Y50.

Having lived with a gaming laptop, I'm trying to persuade people to stay away since they're absolutely stuffe.

The battery power will last you 3 hours with the laptop idling and the brightness set to low. Playing games will bring that down to under an hour (this is on multiple gaming laptops, btw, I've had to do PR for quite a few of these loving things).

Furthermore, the underside gets so hot, there's a risk of leg damage or even sterilisation (it may sound like a joke, but the number of cases is rising).

They're also heavy and I've damaged my shoulder carrying them around in a laptop bag.

If you want mobility, get a Surface or one of those tablets. As crappy as they are, they're a better option on the move than a laptop is.

Sounds like you've got a stuffty one. Mines lasted 3 years solid, its completely fine.

my Vostro 3460 isn't a gaming laptop but anyways, it's decent and moderate cost. I had some problems with the GPU but it's all fixed now. also, the heat is a problem? yes. I use a fan in sunny days to keep it into a good temperature.

Got the 40 for friends, it's great and sometimes feels like it runs better than my desktop. It's probably what I'll be getting myself, soon enough.

No espio, don't do it. Don't say. Don't stuffpost. Leave it just don't.
Okay, nvm
Get a desktop

I have the Y50, paid $1700 for it though not $700 lol.

Why a gaming laptop and not just a good laptop? They can run modern games.

Just for all the neckbeards that are gonna complain about desktops, laptops are superior in mobility, op probably has a social life unlike 90% of this forum.
