I was thinking of a game idea (i have no experience on making games, i dont even plan on making this. i just think it sounds cool though)
This means I can be a harsh judge, then.
a video game called "Technohazard" where computer viruses (one bad one in specific) get way worse until one happens to be the worst ever recorded, literally overclocking computers to physical destruction at the click of a button and it can pretty much do anything any computer virus has ever been able to do. Even take down airplanes, destroy security systems, and shut down power.
Slow down, yo. You haven't actually told us anything. How does the player play? What does the world look like? Even camera and genre can help.
And also, that's a very Hollywood-style virus. Infection speed is a big factor, but more importantly, since every BIOS is different, and all hardware components are different and run different tech and have different executables, how is this supposed to work? Also, don't viruses usually have contradictory properties? Like, one will require Internet access to mass spam emails, while another one would shut the Internet down?
Also, a lot of power and security systems are simple machines. This virus would need to somehow control EMP fields, which would only end up killing itself since it's electrical?
You would play as a white hacker, (a good hacker pretty much) working with (fbi? cia? some other organization?) to stop the virus. The game would also have sort of watch_dogs type of technology. Remember though you wouldnt be the one shutting off power and stuff like in the game watch_dogs itself, i just sort of was inspired with the technology idea part of it.
And still no gameplay description.
You haven't even told us how the player is supposed to complete the main objective.
There's not even a description of why this virus exists, who is behind it and blah blah blah. That's very important detail right there.
is this a good idea? 'cause it actually is somewhat original in my eyes
Doesn't sound original at all. It sounds like you've mixed up a bunch of tech-related movies (stuff like the movie War Games) with Watch_Dogs.
And yeah, I got absolutely no substance. If I can't imagine what it's like to play your game, your game idea needs significant work.
