Author Topic: marijuana legalized in oregon  (Read 7251 times)

I think you bought some of that when you wrote this.
...did you just notice his typos?

Thanks for the laugh blake

This isn't relevant at all to the topic at hand; but since you asked I'll gladly post it.

Alcohol is perfectly acceptable at amounts that the body can handle before going absolutely apestuff (drunkeness). A glass of wine at dinner is something completely different to drinking large, excessive amounts, which can eventually lead to drunk driving, stupid decisions etc.

Tobacco I don't really have an opinion on; as long as you're using it legally you're okay. I do believe it leads to lung cancer though.
Yes because it shows very truthful statements.
I didn't say that; and yes I know how alcohol works because I have parents who drink it at a safe level.
My intention is that it's perfectly safe unless you're drunk.

dude wat

no

Alcohol is essentially poison. Alcohol and cigarettes are considerably worse than marijuana, and unlike cigarettes; marijuana has a wide range of applications aside from being smoked

Trust me you'd much rather get obscenely high on weed than obliterated with alcohol
If you smoke marijuana lets say once a week; the most you have to worry about is how much food you're going to consume from your pantry

also, cigarettes are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE for your health

Let me state this again; ALCOHOL and CIGARETTES are MUCH WORSE than MARIJUANA
Just because people label marijuana as a drug, does not make it bad; also congrats you found a study showing negative side effects of marijuana use; now search for negative side effects of alcohol and cigarettes and you'll be reading articles till your dead

cigarettes are a carcinogen which means it causes cancer; want to know what isn't a carcinogen? Marijuana.

also your argument for moderation can be easily applied to marijuana use
also in case you didn't know, Alcohol was illegal at one point in time too, it was call the prohibition era; it is better to legalize, tax, and control a substance like alcohol and weed rather than to outlaw it

I think I'm the only person here who thinks it shouldn't be made legal.
even if you dont like pot, whats the point on our states wasting millions of dollars a year on trying to keep the stuff out when they can just let it in and tax the stuff out of it and instead make millions a year off it

You could find negative side effects from drinking milk but that doesn't mean it should be illegal. The only argument people against weed have is side effects, which are nowhere near as bad as smoking cigs or drinking alcohol, just like Tenshi said.

When will they start doing this in Australia ;-;

I think it should only be used in a private place or with friends at a private place.
Gong out in public while high or smoking in public both should be illegal, just like how public intoxication is acted upon in some states, or how smoking a cig near a public establishment is not allowed (unless allowed ofc, like a smoking patio or a bar)

I dont give a stuff if you smoke it at home. its your choice and you are in a safe place.

Also, the only addictive thing about pot is the effects of it. I think it should stay at the age of 21 like in colorado. Like alcohol, it does inhibit decisions and can be dangerous to others in certain situations.
This so much.

I think it would really be bad especially because unlike alcohol, which stays as liquid, smoking marijuana in public would mean the smoke would proliferate.  If some guys are smoking marijuana at a park, why would a bunch of kids and parents have to move because of some stuffhead wanting to smoke a bowl in public, right?

same can be said for cigarettes
also you have a lot less to fear from second-hand marijuana smoke than from second-hand cigarette smoke

They can impact you when some little stuff comes and tries to brutally murder you because he's high as forget.

If people want to take drugs, then that is their choice. My take on the situation is that drugs and violence can come hand in hand.

psst...

stop believing the fear mongering propaganda that is our news. unless someone is doing hardcore stuff where it affects the way they see things like PCP, then yeah, some people might be killed.

Whether tobacco or marijuana, I don't think that's really a valid argument. I doubt that people who don't smoke want to be smelling it in public.

I guess in the case of designated smoking areas (like bars, secluded places, your own or friends' houses, etc) it should be fine.

why is everyone here acting like legalized weed means everyone will be smoking everywhere they possibly can
you guys realize that isnt the case in any of the legalized areas right

and yes that includes the public streets and colleges and so on and so on

stoners will go on a trail to oregon.

the oregon trail.

looks like badspot won't be putting anymore effort into blockland

The only weed you shouldnt be smoking is the stuff from that really shady drug dealer your shady friends know.

The plant itself when unaltered is pretty much harmless, aside from normal smoke inhalation being a bad thing if you got stuffty lungs.
