Author Topic: how do i put on shadows and shaders  (Read 1876 times)

I have been trying to use shadows and shader, but it doesn't work" I went to my options and check shadows and shaders but they don't work. How do i fix this?

The most likely case is you have intel graphics, which can't run shaders.

or you just have a really old card

Ok, I just got windows 10 the beta version. And it works great, shaders works kind of but how do I turn on shadows?

Go to the start menu
Type in "dxdiag.exe" and press enter
Go to the "Display 1" tab and tell us what it says under the Device box

I dont know what your talking about.

click the start menu and search for "dxdiag". then click on the file that shows up and tell us what it says in the Display 1 tab

I just took a pic.

And I pic of my console when I turn on shaders

you have intel graphics :( you cant run shaders im sorry.

You have the same graphics chip as me. We can only run shaders on minimum, which means no shadows.

Wait but then that means we 3 have a ASUS Intel Core i3 labtop/notebook, Right?

The chip itself is widely used. For instance I have the same Chip family, but I have the 4000 series instead of the 3000 series. I'm also on an Inspiron with Intel i5. So the answer is more than likely no, all three of you more than likely have different laptops.
