Author Topic: Getting stuck after this part of an algebra problem  (Read 367 times)

Sup, forums. I seem to have forgotten how to get rid of a fraction. I am graphing an equation in slope intercept form. When I get a y intercept that is a fraction, I keep forgetting how to make it NOT a fraction.
Example:
Y=8/3x-17/3
Whut do I do with the 17/3? I keep doing this.

Assuming you're allowed to use a calculator, divide 17 by 3.

I am. So just do what I've been doing all this time then?

Is it (8/3)*x or is it 8/(3*x)

basically keep doing what youre doing and convert the y intercept to decimal form for graphing

(8/3)*x
This. It's the slope, so you just leave it alone. Anyhow, using calculator. Thanks.
