Author Topic: Recoil without using vertical impulse (help)  (Read 1072 times)

Just to get an idea of what im talking about, if any of you guys remember, Gravity Cat added a recoil mechanic to his default styled weapons in which when the weapon is fired, the gun would bump up in to the air.

Now sending a vertical impulse kind of works, but it gives the gun "false recoil" take the AK47 from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for example.

I want to use the mechanic that gravity cat used but im going to use Battlefield 3 / Battlefield 4 recoil stats instead of the massive recoil he gave every gun in his pack

Now i would just study his Weapon .CS files to learn how to do it myself but, since everyone thought the recoil was a nuisance he took the recoil out.

With all that being said does any one have the old Default styled weapons that still have the recoil effects OR

Can i get some help as to how i would do this?

Explain how you want this to work. Did you pitch up? Were you pushed back? Was it just playing an animation? We don't know what Gravity Cat's recoil was.

What i want is the gun to be bumped up when it is fired, but i do not want to use Vertical Impulses to do so because it gives the gun fake recoil. I want the gun to have recoil that can only be controlled if the player forces their mouse downwards. This is what gravity cat did with his default styled weapons a while ago.

Just ask Gravity Cat what he did then?
