Author Topic: Obama urges FCC to protect net neutrality  (Read 3951 times)

"`Net Neutrality' is Obamacare for the Internet," declared Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas
???????????????????????????????????
This makes zero sense and is clearly just to scare people who don't know what this is about
Just when I thought the religious right couldn't get any crazier. They have astounded me once again.

All the current companies (With the exception of google fiber, which has been held back by lawsuit threats from the big internet companies) are far too cheap. With net neutrality, companies would be forced to offer the best speed for all clients for the lowest price to get more users than other companies. That's how it would work.
Uh, not really. Considering ISP's usually hold regional monopolies, the consumers are not getting the best speed for the best price, really ever. Just look at Europe or parts of developed Asia, the internet's faster and cheaper.

and yet apparently the majority of people think they're better than the left

inb4 Kearn saying net neutrality is a bad thing because Obama says it's a good thing.

congratulations on your new republican governor

The religious right and the republican party are two separate things. Nice try though.

i forgot the part where the religious right is also a major constituent of the democrat party. woops.

Both wings are pretty bad, also it's pretty ignorant to generalize.
This is basically fox news in a nutshell lol
"obama has an opinion guys lets bash it!!!!!111!1"
so much for fair and balanced
cnn works the same way.

i forgot the part where the religious right is also a major constituent of the democrat party. woops.

You're a loving idiot incredibly short-sighted if you think you need to be religiously motivated to be a republican.

major constituent of party != entirety of party

inb4 Kearn saying net neutrality is a bad thing because Obama says it's a good thing.

Well it is inevitable for him to stir stuff up.

major constituent of party != entirety of party

Biostorm was specifically referring to the religious right, not the entire party.

It was YOU that initially took his comment as referring to republicans in general.

it's pretty ignorant to generalize.
Yes, yes it is.

cnn works the same way.
Yeah, but they don't have "Fair and Balanced" written under their logo, lol.

i forgot the part where the religious right is also a major constituent of the democrat party. woops.

oh-ho here she comes

she's a MAAAANEATER

I fear that if any government regulation of the internet happens, as indirect as it may start, bureaucratic overreach will find a way somehow (as tends to happen). I'm not saying that it's good for the ISPs to manipulate speeds, but I have a feeling that government regulation won't be any better. I simply urge caution that we not go cheering around  like this is the final solution.
