Author Topic: What is your stance on abortion? (Abortion discussion)  (Read 42384 times)

There's seriously no reason for this debate to exist. Someone else's decision doesn't affect you in any way.
And yet, people always want to butt in like their opinions matter.

See: loveual Preferences

I think all babies should be aborted before they are born

So we should force women to carry fetuses to their full term, rather than allowing them choose whether or not they are ready to bring a life into the world? What else can we force people to do?

Who is forcing? Are we castrating people for their opinion again?

A woman's decision is her own. I don't think that the legality of the issue is something I should get involved in. I do wish that pro-life was the preference, however.

When do they apply? In what circumstances do they apply?
They apply when you're conceived and cease to do so when you decide that you don't care for the responsibilities of being a citizen/resident of the country (responsibilities like obeying the law, paying taxes, &c.) and act on that by committing a crime of sufficient magnitude, e.g. murder, at which point you have sacrificed those rights.  I don't believe that anyone would give two hoots about my personal religious standpoint on the matter of abortion, but this here is a political standpoint on the value of human life.

Nor do concentration camps I'm not in.  Is it wrong to be against those?  Frankly, that's a self centered view of the universe.  While I'm for not infringing on others lives to a large extent, preventing harm to others is just the right thing to do when it can be done.

So, if the mother's life is in danger because of the fetus, nothing should be done, because the fetus has rights. That's what you're saying.

You're forfeiting a real human life for the fragments of a potential life.

i think it's kind of funny
most of the people in this thread have snakees, and therefore are incapable of giving birth/bearing a child/dying of childbirth
so obviously you have complete authority over making someone go through immense pain, and possibly dying
that makes a lot of sense. yep.

People can't have opinions on things that aren't directly about them.

I am surprised people haven't even attended love education yet:
Fetuses aren't aware that they are even alive. All they are is a large collection of cells feeding off of you.

Aborting a fetus is always in the best interest of the baby AND the mother. Don't go around herping and derping saying that its all the mother's fault and the baby should be shoved into adopted where they might just not be chosen and live life as a loving idiot.

Abortion is necessary to keep life; life of the mother and the proper life of the baby. Sure, if you are fine and dandy and everything's alright and you KNOW that a family is going to accept what is going to be a little bundle of joy, then you don't have to bring out the coat hanger, but if the mother/baby are going the die and the mother doesn't want to risk death, abortion is 100% alright.

And that's the motto of the pro-choice movement.

You shouldn't be able to tell women what to do with their bodies, same way you shouldn't tell men what to do with theirs.

lol like mens' opinions matter
the only girl who posted in the entire topic well now foul has also posted
they're both right

that said, though, if I was in congress or something like that, any position where for some reason I was given the power to influence the final decision, I would vote pro-choice

wait is this sarcasm? cus I mean that's like half right. you can HAVE opinions on such things, they just don't matter

people can have opinions
it becomes a problem when they start trying to make things illegal
you shouldn't punish a woman for removing a parasite from her body

I wonder how many pro-life people are actually willing to adopt some random kid
