Author Topic: What is your stance on abortion? (Abortion discussion)  (Read 42728 times)

A husk of cells that is able to live completely independently of my mother, is able to reproduce, is able to communicate, is able to comprehend the world around me, I can go on.

I am more developed and vastly superior to a fetus in just about every way imaginable.

I wonder how many aborted children would have said this when they grew up.

by that definition old people should also be killed
sure i mean if they've had enough of life and want to be euthanized i'm pro for that too

by that definition old people should also be killed
old people are also vastly superior to a fetus?

i mean i cant completely disagree some should be but that point is still silly

by that definition old people should also be killed
uhm

no?

also, rally, I don't really support you on some of your points:
a pre-mature baby is still a baby, and will die without any serious assisting

a baby is also very dependent on his mother

so idk where you are getting this stuff from.

by that definition old people should also be killed

Euthanasia is a different argument. The only way your clever brown townogy would work was if the patient was completely braindead and hooked up to a life support machine. By the time somebody is old they have had many close interactions with many different people, people who care about them deeply and have had many stories and memories with them. We can get into a debate about euthanasia but it's irrelevant and pointless.

Stop being an idiot.

I wonder how many aborted children would have said this when they grew up.

Probably none, because they don't exist and never did.

I meant surviving with the support of the uterus. I brought up fetal viability somewhere, thought it went without saying.

fetuses will become people and killing them also kills the person they would become

Every sperm has the potential to become a person. Masturbating is Flash Mob.

Again with the romantic crap. You're making waaaaay too big a deal out of a bunch of cells.

sorry for personifying a person?

So if I killed you, I'd be charged with double murder because I killed you the person and the person you'd become?

Ostuff.

sorry for personifying a person?

The person doesn't even exist yet.

If you kill a woman, you should be charged for all the eggs in her ovaries. Potential persons!!1!11!

The person doesn't even exist yet.
life starts at conception

I'm not a girl, so I have no reasonable say in whither or not they need to keep the baby unless I'm the father.

But since this is more of a moral issue, I'll give my opinion. I think abortion can be allowed if the mother does not want or is unable to care for the baby. However, there should be a line between aborting the fetus and letting it develop into a child, who would then be put up for adoption if the mother still does not want it.

fetuses will become people and killing them also kills the person they would become
just because a fetus can become a person, it doesn't make it a person

life starts at conception

You can keep stuffting this one out but it still doesn't make any sense.
Your definition of life is loving ridiculous.
