Author Topic: my family really needs to calm the forget down  (Read 3405 times)

lol, I'm allergic to my cellphone so people using it to try to get a hold of me is always hilarious.

It's either off in my pocket or in a completely separate room, usually with the sound off. That's in contrast with both my parents who will actually take out their phones when talking to me, which is either a giant slap in the face or just rude, lol.

People who use their phones while talking are really rude.

Haha
My family went out of the house for a few hours on two separate occasions and thought I was in the car while I was just sitting in my room playing with legos, and then they figured out all that time later that I wasn't actually in the car and then rushed home in a panic.

I'm staying home alone today, and when I got up this morning around a half hour ago, I had over 30 missed calls and texts from five different family members. I called my mom and asked "why are you all calling me". apparently, they were all having a panic attack because before my mom left the house, she told me to turn up my phone. I was not awake, nor did I respond to her telling me that, because I was sleeping. So yeah, because I didn't answer my phone after like an hour of being alone, my family goes apestuff and sends family members over to the house to check on me. Is it really that loving inhumane to wake up at 11:30 in the morning?? I tell my mom to calm down, and she tells me, "well, when you dont answer my calls, horrible things go through my mind". Like what exactly? Me falling off my bed and breaking my neck?? A burglar breaking into a house at 11 in the loving morning? So yeah I get this lecture on why I need to listen to people even though I'm loving asleep.

exact same thing happened to me, lol

Make a movie about it.

what kind of idiot brings a phone where they're going but leaves the ringer on low volume? what is the point of that?

Same people that would rather not be disturbed by a phone call when they're out doing something that is probably with other people who deserve their full attention?

Using the marvels of modern technology excluding telephone?

no that bugs me. I can't tell you how many times I've had to make an important phone call and the other person doesn't pick up because they've literally disabled their phone.

no that's bullstuff. it's one thing to block a number but when you turn off your ringer you are literally preventing anybody from calling you, no matter how important it is

If they're expecting this important call, then yeah, they should have their phone on.

People who are physically with you are always a priority. If you can find a lull in a conversation to go off and make a phone call, then by all means. But its rude as forget to be with someone, have them get a phone call, then you're just standing, sitting, or whatever in silence while they talk to whoever.

You can still acknowledge the person who called you by sending a quick message.

Consciously ignoring people isn't cool either way.

do you by any chance have hearing problems? I can easily wake up from deep sleep if I hear my phone ring, even if I accidentally turn it on vibration only.
