Author Topic: my family really needs to calm the forget down  (Read 3391 times)

:O
They're more reliable than a mobile phone anyway.
They're always on and available to take a message.
You can't really lose it, or forget to charge it, and it'll always have a signal provided telephone lines aren't down.

Plus you know that usually someone else at home can take a message or answer on your behalf if you're not available.

If they're expecting this important call, then yeah, they should have their phone on.
the point here is that important calls can come when you might not expect them, and there's no point in having a phone if you can't answer phone calls

Who the forget has land lines anymore?
We have a land line, cell phones almost don't work at all up here.

do you by any chance have hearing problems? I can easily wake up from deep sleep if I hear my phone ring, even if I accidentally turn it on vibration only.
It isn't abnormal to not wake up to a phone ringing, I can sleep through like everything, so no I don't have "hearing problems". BTW, I keep my phone on mute all the time, forgot to put it in the OP.

idk im not buying the story here. its told by a rebellious teen who uses the word "forget" about every sentence. kind of tells me this whole thing is exaggerated. maybe he is the one at fault but likes to pin it on higher authority for sympathy.
Exaggerated? How could I exaggerate this? Seriously, find one part that seems so insanely inaccurate that I added it for sympathy and dramaticism. You can't, wanna know why? Because you don't know what happened, you weren't involved in the situation giving you no right to call it exaggerated. Also, I know I overuse the word forget, but I used it in 6 out of around 21 sentences. whew, looks like I used it in about every sentence, looks like you're exaggerating. Lastly, the only way I could be at fault is for not waking up to my phone. I'm human, I sleep through things easily. It's the higher authorities faults for getting overly worried about me not answering, even though they knew I was asleep. Also, find one point in the OP where I'm pleading for sympathy. I'm not. You sure like to pick out the little petty things in my topics and get all loving riled up at me, don't you?

My mom is a lot like that, but less than how you described yours. She'll call me and if I miss one call, she'll get pissed off (no matter what I'm doing) and lecture me next time she sees me. She also doesn't give me any independence and needlessly bothers me with useless things. I'm not trying to make it sound like she does this constantly, but it does happen enough to be annoying.

For example, a couple weeks ago, I was in my precalculus class. I've told both parents repeatedly not to call or text me while I'm in there or else my phone will get confiscated for the remainder of the semester (only during 4th hour). My mom tells me not to turn off my phone at school in case she needs to reach me between classes (I do keep it on vibrate though).

Anyway, I was in the middle of a unit test when my phone started buzzing. Everyone around me looked at me and I could feel my blood boiling. I quickly fumbled it out of my pocket quietly and shut it off so the teacher wouldn't notice. Immediately when class was over, I looked at what it was. It was just some meaningless Albert Einstein quote that my mom sent to my phone in the middle of class.
