That would have made my year.

Back from the pub, got to leave in about an hour and a half, room is still full of stuff but w/e that's other people's problems now :cookieMonster:

bring a gas / dust mask if you really plan on going to beijing, the air is so polluted there simply breathing is like smoking 20 cigarettes at a time
The best part is that when the men aren't breathing normally they're smoking cigarettes.
I'll only spend a few days at max in Beijing/dense cities, I want to see the extreme but it's definitely not the focus of the trip.

Have fun with the oriental poon. We gon miss you lad.

Also, good luck with Malaysian Airlines.

Um why are you going on all of those obscure places in the first place? China is forgeted up.

okay I get the forgeted up part, but why does it matter to visit an obscure country?

In Metal Gear Solid, you can smoke a cigarette instead of using a gas mask. I wonder how effective that is IRL.

Visit a first world country on your next trip.

thats pretty rude

I lived in China for a good amount of time and i got to say that the Countryside part of China beats the condensed cities anyday. Also keep on the lookout for those clever type beggars. I once knew this one guy who was so flexible that he'd fold himself practically in half and scoot around on a makeshift wood cart begging for money.

China definitely won't be like what HollyWood portrays it as, which is "advanced" "clean" and "everyone speaks english and loves foreigners"

Weird, I've always pictured China as dirty polluted place filled with sketchy beggers, paranoid people under the watchful eye of big brother, and capitalism under the mask of overbearing socialism.

Good luck on trip, filter your water, stay out of trouble.

That's sort of a misnomer though. My Chinese teacher told us "This class is called Mandarin, but I want you to call the language Chinese, because it's Chinese."

Quote
The English word "mandarin" (from Portuguese mandarim, from Malay menteri, from Sanskrit mantrin, meaning "minister or counsellor") originally meant an official of the Chinese empire.[4][5] Since their home dialects were varied and often mutually unintelligible, these officials communicated using a koiné based on various northern dialects. When Jesuit missionaries learned this standard language in the 16th century, they called it "Mandarin", from its Chinese name Guānhuà (官话/官話), or "language of the officials".[6]

In everyday English, "Mandarin" refers to Standard Chinese, which is often called simply "Chinese".
