Author Topic: What are the BLF's opinion on the outrageous cold?  (Read 2294 times)

Either all the calculators are messed up or -40c=-40f. Doesnt seem right to me, but then again i don't know how celsius works.

EDIT: Turns out -40c and -40f just so happen to be the same temp.
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=-40C%20in%20F He's right, but I hate Fahrenheit so I'm using Celcius anyway :)
I think my joke fell apart a little. s:
My joke was just that you could've said Fahrenheit or Centigrade. :P I thought it was more commonly known that the two temperature scales meet each other at -40.
I prefer Centigrade to Fahrenheit as it is anyway.

This is America. We don't know stuff about Celsius because forget international standards.

I live in canada, I can deal with it
(note: I actually can't pls make it warm again already)

Actually my feet are really goddamn cold
Idk what to do, I've got socks on and a sweater wrapped around them and a jacket around the sweater and I'm wiggling my toes and they're still cold.

im going to buy a pair of gloves and maybe a scarf if i can find them

Do you seriously use it in science lessons and things though?
Like, I get using it in your regular day-to-day speech, because my parents still do that since they were brought up with Fahrenheit.
But it's so awful for anything like chemistry. Comparing the temperatures that things occur at seems so much simpler when you set out a rule like water melts at 0, and it evaporates at 100 as you increase.

Also, I don't know Fahrenheit at all. I couldn't tell you what was hot or cold.
Only thing I know is that it crosses over with centigrade at -40. :3

guys have you seen bufallo, ny

i mean holy stuff

Cold to me is 50 degress F or less. Less than 70 is uncomfortably chilly. I absolutely hate being cold. :(

Our house has poor insulation, and thus it fells cold and drafty in it. D:

Nah I got the joke, hence why I said I hate Fahrenheit and that's why I used Celsius instead.

more chance for snow days

more chance for snow days
this
though my school is resilient as forget when it comes to snow days (we had a day where it was like -40 C, and we still had to go to school, one of the pipes burst that day too.)

oh forget that reminds me of my school's new policy for late openings rather than full days off

dammit

70 degrees today, real cold!
