Author Topic: 12 year old shot by police (feat. tumblr)  (Read 4830 times)

yeah so tumblr got ahold of that 12 year old that got shot for reaching for a bb gun that had the orange tip removed...

apparently reacting the way any cop would makes you a tribal now

well you're not suppose to point any kind of gun at a cop regardless

ESPECIALLY if that gun looks real. He probably would have chuckled maybe if it was a fake looking watergun.

If he took the orange tip off he pretty much literally just took off the legal "permit" to own that Air gun under the pretense that it's a toy. Even more point it at someone (Might not be the case though, but still, he reached for it, the cop reacted out of instinct, which is good?).

Not to mention it is illegal for 12 year olds to own air weapons pretty much anywhere as well.

no, don't point anything that looks even remotely like a normal loving pistol at a cop and this wouldn't have happened

He didn't reach for it he actually got to the point of pointing it from a lot of the sources i've heard. I feel like the media is trying to sensationalize it by stating it that way.

Here's a link to the story, if anyone wants it.

Have to question why the boy didn't stop what he was doing. Has he not been taught to listen to the police and do as they say?

This is why parents should be arrested when stuff like this happens. Obviously they didn't teach their child any proper safety whatsoever. My brother is almost 13 and he has an airsoft rifle and gas pistol. Most likely looks 10x more realistic that what that kid has, and he never wants to remove the orange tip, even at our local playing field. He knows not to take the guns outside the house at all unless we are going straight to the field. I have my rifle's orange tip replaced with a metal flash hider. I don't take it out anywhere else but the field. I feel sorry for the boy that his parents were so neglectful to his safety. Smh.

Exactly, the parents obviously didn't teach proper respect.

Yeah, I was never really allowed to take toy guns to the park or anything when I was younger (even when the park was in sight of my house), and we were always told to never take the orange tip off. If we did my parents would take it away.

And I live in a country, and area of that country, where I was never ever ever going to encounter a gun, in the hands of a police man or otherwise.

There have been calls for tighter controls on fake guns, with one local lawmaker - Alicia Reece - saying she intends to introduce legislation that would require fake guns sold in Ohio to be brightly coloured.

God loving dammit NO. TEACH YOUR GODDAMN KIDS SOME loving SENSE. Its not even my goddamn state and I'm pissed.

Bottom line, if there was indeed no way for the officer to know that the gun was not real, then his actions were justified.

So either he feels like stuff for shooting a kid (and probably starting a media race-war) or he is genuinely tribal and likes to shoot black kids because he can. :/

While this is a good reason to fire at someone, this stuff has been happening way too often lately. A white police officer shooting and killing a black man/child. People have the right to get upset.

Besides the Mike Brown incident, there was also this, which happened a week or two ago.

this is why all toy guns are handicapped. they are contrary to kids learning respect for guns.
toys just encourage kids to threaten people without consequence.

and yes airsoft is toys for friends.

there is truth to that. i've never had a gun pointed at me, yet for some reason pointing a BB gun at my face is like, some cool stuff to people.

it definitely feels that people who forget around with BB guns think you can forget around with a gun, and that is what freaks me out.
