Should I let thermal grease dry before I use A PC?

If anyone saw this thread, then you know that I needed to apply thermal grease to my CPU's cooling unit. I just applied it now, am I supposed to let this stuff dry before I use my PC again?

The stuff takes like a week to dry. I've removed coolers to find the stuff wet after 2 years. Depends on brand.

I've removed a CPU off of a PC that we had for about 10 years, its grease was still wet. Not once had the CPU been removed before then.

It shouldn't ever dry. Liquids transfer heat better than solids, so thermal paste is designed to stay pasty forever. If it dries up it'll do a stufftier job.

Well, I sorted it out, and my PC is now working fine. I'm going to go ahead and lock this so I don't cause a stuffstorm.
