don't jinx it.
star wars nerd hereno, not all storm troopers are clones. the cloning factories on kamino were discontinued in the star wars universe once the galactic empire was formed (it was either that, or iirc, they were destroyed somehow). storm troopers were enlisted soldiers. thats why in ep 4 we see storm troopers of different heights and sizes (the funny scene with the trooper that bonks his head on the door in that one scene on the death star)
So that's why they all shoot terribly right? if I remember correctly the original Kamino clones demonstrated expert markmanship but the storm troopers barely ever seemed able to hit anything. Of course as usual I'm completely wrong for some reason or another..

You would be right if lightsaber hilts could not be made lightsaber resistant. There are various metals that are lightsaber resistant. Furthermore, a weapon can be imbued with the force to resist lightsabers.
then why the stuff wouldn' you make the ENTIRE crossbar out of that metalless of a risk to oop-cidentally cut your OWN hand off is a good thing right?
OR it's just made because it looks Dank Cool. that's always a reason.
if the metal is saberproof, make the entire guard out of it; if it's not, the guard is useless
