no, not all storm troopers are clones. the cloning factories on kamino were discontinued in the star wars universe once the galactic empire was formed (it was either that, or iirc, they were destroyed somehow). storm troopers were enlisted soldiers. thats why in ep 4 we see storm troopers of different heights and sizes (the funny scene with the trooper that bonks his head on the door in that one scene on the death star)

So that's why they all shoot terribly right? if I remember correctly the original Kamino clones demonstrated expert markmanship but the storm troopers barely ever seemed able to hit anything. Of course as usual I'm completely wrong for some reason or another..

i think their terrible aim is was deliberate. i'm pretty sure vader would be less than happy to realize that his potential apprentice was killed by a stormtrooper. vader wanted everyone alive

Stormtroopers aren't all clones, in fact the empire banned cloning shortly after taking power. The Stormtrooper corps is by and large made up enlisted soldiers, recruited from (human) imperial civilians. The jango clones are still there, but not in large numbers.
you even hear stormtroopers talking to each other in the movies and they have different voices

Well, the metals are difficult to make/expensive. Idk. Probably because it looks cooler though.

to be fair even if the metal isn't saberproof

it's only a little bit of metal, and to cut through it you'd have to sliiiiide right down the blade
now if i'm not wrong when the blades touch they repel a bit and to do those cool-ass blade parries they have to press the blades together rather tightly; obviously this won't be the case if you're trying to swifly slide and cut through the crossguard, so the blade's just gonna get deflected back up and towards the crossguard

in the comics, a Jedi uses one of these hilts

but seeing that makes me wonder how it'd be effective against a lightsaber. unless it can be enabled separately from the main blade, like a saberstaff, then its primary use is to look unique and dank cool.

yeah, i saw that on the wiki as well, and it's an even better example of the same problem

double bladed hilts have been cut through other sabers before, so i don't think they're saberproof
it's probably just to look cool overall
