UT2004 players I need some help

If you have unreal tournament 2004 can you help me out a bit?

Soon I am going to buy Unreal tournament 2004 and I want to know how to use mods and skins. Can you use the downloaded models or skins as bots and play with them? or are skins just player models and you can't really use the skins on the bots? I know its very hard to explain.

Basically, once you have downloaded a skin can you use that skin on a bot/ai/npc?

Would gladly appreciate some help.

And also since I am buying it off steam, there isn't any "you need version v.21432543forget-steam to use this mod, steam doesn't have this version so you can't use this mod"  bullstuff?

I'm pretty sure that they're for players only, but I'm not at all positive. Have you looked around UT2004 communities to see if anyone else was wondering the same thing?

I've searched all over Google and the Epic games forum and I can't find anything. But there are videos of people using their skins (as bots) but they don't play the game, its a sort of preview video.
