You can link me to any number of studies you want, but that does not prove that "80% of bronies are straight."
That study you linked there has several flaws in it that make that number inaccurate. Some are preventable, some are not.
First off, only people 17 or older were included in the statistics listed. Hence the "(Note: due to IRB consideration only subjects who were 17 years of age or older were used in the following brown townyses)"
This causes significant inaccuracies in the gender, education level, employment, loveual orientation, marital status and dating statistics. All of those things vary wildly by age.
Second, no study, no matter if it covers 1,000 people or 1,000,000, is completely accurate. You cannot say "80% are straight" as 1. That's not even the statistic listed in the study, which is 84%, and 2.
It is not exact. You're saying it like
exactly 80% of all people who personally identify without a doubt that they are a brony are straight.
Third, the study says "84% of the Bronies
described themselves as heteroloveual." This means that a person can intentionally say they're straight even if they're gay, and vice versa. This even further skews the data. The same thing applies for almost all the items in the survey.
The actual, 100% accurate number is the # of bronies who are legitimately straight divided by the total # of bronies. And since we don't know either of those to 100% accuracy and never will, you cannot say that kind of thing and expect to be taken seriously without saying that 1. It was a figure presented by a potentially unintentionally biased study and 2. The figure is not exact.
