Because it has to be an ARGUMENTATIVE essay. I have to argue my opinion on a subject. What kind of point could I honestly put in over 2,000 words about some people getting kidnapped?

the forget is wrong with your teacher? "issue" implies its bad, and making an argument that its bad is pretty dumb when everyone already knows that

Try to break from the others and actually talk about something relevant so you sound respectable to your teacher. I can't force you to choose a topic but I'd stay away from anything related to strictly North American issues (especially the made up ones). So pretty much everything you'd expect your classmates to whine about.

I'd feel bad for you if you guys had to present them aloud.
