Author Topic: Retaking my driving test tomorrow, nervous as crap  (Read 1924 times)

If anyone remembers, I failed my driving test in august. Well, after 3 months of schedule conflicts and practicing, your fabulous forum special interest queen is retaking it and holy crap im nervous. Also its gonna be on roads I barely know but in my own car this time. Any advice?

Make sure you don't do anything that automatically fails you. It's pretty hard to fail otherwise because you have to rack up a lot of points and tbh if you manage to rack up enough points without doing anything that automatically fails you then you probably shouldn't be driving alone. But something stupid like failing to use your blinker when changing lanes, constituting an auto-fail lane violation, is a stupid reason to fail.

-cough- Run over the pedestrians -cough- Just take it calm and average speed, Don't floor it or go too slow.

Yeah, first time I took it I got auto-failed not even 5 minutes in. I nearly ran a stop sign that was half covered by a tree and the lady just hit the emergency brake (it was in a driving school car) and told me to go back.

FLOOR IT GOD DAMN IT

dont show your teacher your scat collection this time

oh yeah I just drove for the first time today
I went to costco

some people got mad at me for going too slow and being bad at turning

Get there early, and just sit there for a few minutes with your feet (if you have them) on the dashboard while reclining. This will boost your confidence.

Being nervous isn't going to help, it's likely to hinder you. So find something that helps you combat nervousness.

Either way, I wish you luck! :)

Don't let it get to you. If they knew it was your first time driving, each and every one of them would probably thank you for going slowly.

Drive like a normal human being.

Just remember what you learned in Speedkart and you'll be fine

the joys of small town life: the test is as simple as going down the road to the high school and back
