Yo, there is nothing wrong with that. Better to have a working gpu with drivers that worked before than getting the wrong one.

I was referring to you telling wrapperup he was giving horrible advice by telling him to install drivers from the cd but you didnt get it

Which he was, installing outdated drivers over latest drivers installed over outdated drivers in order to re-install the latest drivers creates the kind of convoluted mess which breaks graphics card drivers. The ideal solution is to get to the point where your display is working then, as I said in my first post, use DDU to completely uninstall all display drivers then install the latest drivers with no risk of conflicting drivers or failed installs due to broken previous installations.
