I don't want one of those super loving fancy ass gaming keyboards but I still want a keyboard that is suitable for gaming aswell as doing normal lame computer stuff also not ridiculously expensive
anyone have any personal favorites?

He should find the switches that he likes the most, however.

Blue switches have a loud tactile bump, and I think they're pretty much the loudest of all the switches, and give a satisfying click.

Red Switches are smooth and have no bump, providing a quiet and fluid response.

I don't know much about other switches.

Brown switches have the tactile bump but don't have the click, making them much quieter.

budget?
im 17 so like a realistic price for a keyboard 10-100 dollars I don't want to spend so much money on just a keyboard, I will pay more if it's /that/ good though

also ive only ever had this stuffty 6 dollar logitech keyboard so I don't know anything about keyboards

This keyboard seems pretty good considering its also mechanical. The design isnt anything too special, but it does have a numpad and macro keys. If you wanted, you can bind those to start up a program such as mail, browser, word, etc

Just incase you want a keyboard more towards gaming, but still works for regular use, I would recommend this since I use it.

Both of these keyboards are the same price, but are on the higher end of your budget.

MX Cherry Red Keyboard
MX Cherry Blue Keyboard
Also, This Keyboard is on sale, original price $150, currently $80. Has blue switches though, which are known for being loud, not sure if that's a turn off for you or not.

I want a cherry mx blue keyboard, but I don't want to shell out $100, or really even $80. ;~;
