Author Topic: Apparently, Apple deleted music from people's iPods a while ago  (Read 1617 times)

tl;dr Apple deleted non-iTunes music from people's iPods in order to forget over competitors, and claims they did it to protect users from hackers. Apparently it's totally possible to hack music players using audio files.

In other words, don't buy Apple products

EDIT: Apparently this was five years ago. Oops. Trial's still relevant though

I bet it was in the fine print of the terms and conditions that they're allowed to do this.

“We don’t need to give users too much information,” and “We don’t want to confuse users.”

aka we know how many of our consumers couldn't operate a toaster without a warning label, so we can do whatever the forget we want.

I use CopyTrans instead so I don't have to deal with Apple's shenanigans

In other words, it doesn't really matter anymore because it's not early 2000's. :)

Yeah, the "just" in the title of the topic really threw me off.

Like, I get now that it's supposed to mean that they did it without warrant, but it could totally have meant that they did it in the very recent past.

"2007 - 2009" with old CEO which means OP is digging to hate lel

Why I never bought an apple product.
Also high replacement costs.
Etcetera.

This article was actually written just 4 days ago. It's being brought up again because the case is finally moving forward, as it appeared to have been delayed for a number of years.

My Moto X keepz me warm at night.

My itunes/old ass ipod are still fine with the songs.

This is why I don't update apple products :I

My solution: just use an old stuffty phone for all your calling and texting and things.

If you want something that can act as a computer while it is small enough to hold, get a Windows or Android tablet.

Wait, then why are all my songs still working?
