An official soundtrack is a score of songs composed specifically for a film, or video game to give it an atmosphere that the content itself cannot.

Hans Zimmer is pretty dope, and he did a bunch of compositions for various films and games, but you should really actually listen to some from Destiny's OST. You can hate the game as much as you want, but the soundtrack is a masterpiece.

His movie soundtracks are pretty rad but his vidya works have been solid and consistent mediocrity.
