Author Topic: Are current math systems crap?  (Read 3348 times)

Oh boy. The school system is absolute crap right now. Opinions?

we're taking trig right now in my geometry class and i don't understand stuff. i've just taken to drawing snakes all over the papers.

I already took trig last year, in geometry.
They put me in Geometry before they put me through Algebra 2, I'm taking it this year with the juniors. I'm a senior.

I'm pretty sure the "New Math" (yes it was actually called that) system was scrapped like a few decades ago. Not sure why it's in the poll.

Found out once i joined Penn Foster that most of the crap they say is "Required" isnt. Algebra 2 and above are not required for a diploma.

Speaking of that, most schools don't even teach financial math unless you failed Algebra 1

it's k -5  and then honestly it repeats until 11th

its crap because most maths teachers don't check you're homework and rely on the book way too much

We don't even get textbooks, budget cuts.

we're doing times tables multiplication here

When i say financial math i don't mean just decimals. I mean all the taxes, different phrases, etc. Pretty much everything math related that you NEED as an adult.

The school system is absolute crap...
and it will stay that way until someone makes a change
everyone learns on different levels and people need to start realizing that
